Context: This tale is centred around the topic of melting icebergs and sea level rise due to human behaviours.
Snow white drizzles.
frosty sparkles
dancing softly in the air.
ice flower spring time, baby,
yes please, some more of that
glitter in my hair.
rime gem poetry.
Snow white covers.
keen to keep our secrets
she buries all
that shouldn’t be seen.
Appearance wins.
For spotlight gloss
and for beauty’s sake
she hides away
our urban mistakes.
under her blanket
made of frozen water flakes.
white-clad city sins.
Snow white lies.
silent nights.
truth slides away
in a one-man driven sleigh.
with oil field mining in mind
and ice cubes in his veins
unshaken, unstirred
he remains.
better keep your lips sealed,
better jingle
dashing all the way.
Snow white grizzles.
she turns soggy,
turns pathetic,
turns sad.
her covers are dirty,
her puppets look mad.
water dropping,
silent cries.
bad news:
ice breaking.
melt down.
sea level rise.
Snow white, darling,
don’t you cry.
you see, we try.
but it’s just no fun at all
to face the traces
of our self-made misery.
so please just dry your tears,
hide our fears,
and better keep your cool.
