1% for future?

Context: Do you see? The walls are talking about the rich. What are they talking about, I wonder?

This pixel puzzle is composed of different murals I found in Bologna, Ghent and Paris. I found that research agrees with the walls: According to recent analyses, the richest 1% of the world population owns more than the poorest 95% combined (see also Chancel et al., 2022).This does not only impact issues of social justice, but also has effects on our climate as the global richest 10% account for 50% of the carbon emissions (see also Adua, 2022). But hey, good news: people like Prof. Zucman are already proposing smart solutions for an internationally coordinated taxation system.

And do not fear:

if, par hasard, you happen to be a billionaire, but still care of increased socioecological justice and liveable presents and futures, you are not alone!
